Alphabetica - Music/Bells

Here is my folders I created for Week 4.  I probably have a different take on "Bells" as I am musically inclined and that word screamed "music" to me, so I made the folder for Music/ Bells.

Flue?

It started last Friday with a headache and has just got worse.  I have a sore throat and can hardly talk.  I can't remember the last time I was this sick, but I hope it gets better soon!  I couldn't do my Ustream today, just can't talk with this sore throat!  On top of it all, I never slept again last night, but this is not insomnia it is being sick.

I wanted to do research on digital scrapbook sources for Photoshop brushes, .png, .jpg files and some digi freebie sites.  This will have to wait until I fell better.

How To Use Digital Stamps In Microsoft Word

One of my Ustreams was about printing on tissue paper.  I have searched for more information to make it easier for you to print, resize and at least use your digi images.

I found a video by Jessica Griffin  and she does a fabulous job of explaining how to use MS Word for printing.  So you can use my tutorial on on Ustream - how to attach tissue paper to a piece of cardstock and print.

Art Journal Page

Just playing today and getting away from the glue and paint.  I enjoyed playing in photoshop with some beautiful designs from Studio Rosey Posey.  It is so easy to create with no water, paint and all those supplies!  However, it is not your own.

I will be printing and adding this to my journal:)

Mail Art

I was surfing the internet for the size of "mail art".  With my inquiring mind, I wondered if there was such a thing.  I was surprised to come up with something quite interesting.

Art Journal Page Using Tissue Paper

I showed my Ustream friends today about printing on tissue paper.  I have become a printed tissue paper addict!  LOL

When the ustream was over, something kept nagging me to do more..... so I did.

I wanted to use up the paint on my mat so I added it to the next page, used some stencils and got started on the next one!  No printed tissue on this one yet!

Life Book 2013 - Lesson 1

I joined Life Book again this year.  I didn't do all the lessons from 2012 but have made conscious decision to change that in 2013!!

Here is my first painting, which was a warm up "fairy godmother".   She was not supposed to look realistic!  LOL... and mine surely didn't!

CAPI Raw Sketchbook Assignment 1

This was our first assignment, however I managed to do one but there are 4 different views posted at the bottom of this post.

CAPI ::: Raw Sketchbook Assignment 1 -
Free Form Association :::

• Watch 2 Videos on my version of free form association


• print out my drawing template


• take a different color marker pen like a sharpie, coloring pencil  etc and study the drawing to see whether you can find any kind of shapes ,forms or resonant images within


• create approx 5 free form drawings yourself starting with a  black squarish shape filling it with random lines , then letting the images find you as you mark them with a different color


• TIP : if you have never done this type of exercise before or are a new art student then practice these more than 5 times to get into the flow of things as we will be using this technique again ...


• object of the exercise is the development of seeing visuals with our right brain rather than predicting imagery with our left brain .

The C.A.P.I. Project

I have joined a new project designed by Milliande of Milliande’s Art Community for Women  called C.A.P.I., which stands for Create Art Portfolio Ideas. The purpose of the project is to do focused assignments in order to define your personal artistic style. I didn’t think that appealed to me at first, but then I reconsidered it (pondered it a bit, you might say) and decided it does. You can find out all about the project on Milliande’s website.

It involves keeping 6 different Portfolios that all have different purposes.  But Milliande does things a bit differently, which is where stepping outside my comfort zone already begins!

1.  Pondering Journal – written journal entries and collected information on the Pondering Prompts  (I was surprised to see she recommends a loose folder into which you put papers, printouts, etc. rather than a bound journal.)

2.  Raw Sketchbook – place to keep all the rough sketches, ideas, inspirations  (She actually uses a huge variety of scratch and art papers clipped onto a clipboard for this!)

3.  Observational Studies Sketchbook – place to do the Observational Studies assignments  (She recommends a regular sketchbook or mixed media journal.)

4.  Gathering Portfolio – a place to keep visual imagery collected according to Gathering Portfolio Prompts  (She recommends just a file folder for this.)

5.  Bottom of My Handbag Portfolio – a place to throw things when I don’t have time to file or make decisions about them  (She recommends a file folder for this as well.)

6.  Style Toolkit – what will result from all of this, a focused, cohesive set of tools that define my personal Artistic Style  (She uses a professional artist presentation portfolio for this.)
